REMINDER: Help PMI Understand Your Information Systems Requirements

The new volunteer-based Technology Member Advisory Group (TechMAG) is surveying PMI members and community leaders to assist PMI in understanding users' needs and priorities and to gather other input that PMI communities may have.  As community leaders, your input through these surveys will aid in the deployment of key business initiatives.

Please see the TechMAG Blog on the new Community Leadership Online Community for more information about the TechMAG.

There are currently two active surveys. Your responses to the Social Networking Initiative survey and the Member Lookup Initiative survey are needed now.  These two surveys will run through the month of May.

To take a survey:

Please visit the Discussions section of the Community Leadership Online Community to participate in the Online Social Networking for the New Virtual PMI discussion and the PMI Membership Database Renewal Project discussion.

You may also send comments/questions to the TechMAG at techmag@pmi.org.

Economic Pulse Surveys Now Available on PMI’s Website

Due to the current economic crisis and its’ affect on so many organizations, PMI is conducting monthly economic pulse surveys in an effort to stay informed about the impact.

Each month 1000 members and credential holders are surveyed regarding the impact the economy is having on their organization.  In addition, a monthly survey is conducted among PMI Registered Education Providers (R.E.P.s) to assess the effect the economy is having on their business.  The results are reported monthly and can be found here.

LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE

Last Chance: 2009 North America Leadership Institute Meeting – Call for Presentation Proposals

The PMI Leadership Institute Advisory Group is accepting presentation proposals for the 2009 North America Leadership Institute Meeting which will be held from 8-10 October 2009 in Orlando, Florida, USA. Registration for the North America Leadership Institute Meeting is also now open.

The deadline to propose a topic is 31 May 2009.

Content must be focused and applicable to PMI Communities (Chapters, Virtual Communities). Presentations may also reference officer roles such as membership, finance, communication, volunteerism, etc...

The Leadership Institute Meeting’s purpose is to provide training and networking experiences to enhance the roles of PMI’s volunteer leaders, therefore, presentations should not overtly market or endorse commercial products and services.  Also, topics related to project management may not be applicable to the Leadership Institute Meeting and thus might be a better fit for a PMI Global Congress.

Please review guidelines, review criteria, deadlines and access the online submission form on the Leadership Institute Meeting Proposal Submission Website if you wish to submit a presentation proposal.

Your presentation proposal will be added to a database of potential presentations.
The deadline to a submit presentation proposal is 31 May 2009.

Selected presenters will be notified via e-mail by 1 August 2009 or sooner. Please contact Leadership Institute Administrator, Gil Marder if you have questions.
