| Important Tax Filing
Information for U.S.-based Component Officers |
|
|
The annual tax filing deadline with
the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is Thursday, 15 May 2008. Please
review the information found on the Component Leadership Online Community >
Resources-Finance Officers section to ensure your component meets
the IRS guidelines.
United States-based PMI component officers are
reminded that copies of your component's tax filings must be sent to
PMI for inclusion in components' records and can be sent to the
attention of PMI Component Relations Coordinator Anne
Jenemann.
Every U.S.-based component should file a 2007 tax
filing (either e-Postcard 990 N, a 990-EZ or a 990) with the
Internal Revenue Service by 15 May.
A copy of that tax filing must be held on record with
the component’s files at PMI Global Operations Center as soon as
possible after the 15 May reporting deadline.
This information is required for each component’s
annual charter renewal. If you have questions or concerns, please
contact Anne
Jenemann. |

Announcing PMI’s Newest
Credential: PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP)SM |
|
|
The new PMI Scheduling Professional
(PMI-SP)SM credential will be unveiled at the upcoming
PMI College of Scheduling Conference on 4–7 May. Eligible
candidates for the credential can now apply online and schedule
their examination for 30 May or beyond.
PMI is looking for potential credential-holders to
take the examination during the incentive period, 30 May – 31 July
2008. Those who schedule and sit for the examination during
this period will receive 50 percent off the price of the
examination, and be entered into one of four regional drawings for
US$1,000.
The PMI College of Scheduling was a major contributor
to the development of the credential and is one of the biggest
supporters of the PMI-SP. Together, the College of Scheduling
and PMI are partnering to launch this specialty credential at the
annual conference.
For those wishing to study and prepare for the
examination, the PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP)SM Examination Specification and
the Practice Standard for Scheduling are just
some of the many study aids available to assist in the preparation

Proposals for 2008 Latin America Leadership Institute Meeting
|
|
|
The PMI Leadership Institute Advisory
Group is accepting presentation proposals for the 2008 Latin America
Leadership Institute Meeting, which will be held 9–10 August 2008 in
Sao Paulo, Brazil. The deadline to propose a topic is
30 May.
Content must be focused on and applicable to all PMI
chapters, colleges and SIGs. Presentations can discuss the roles of
officers, such as those in membership, finance, communication and
voluntarism.
The purpose of the Leadership Institute Meeting is to
provide training and networking that enhance the experience of PMI’s
volunteer leaders. Therefore, presentations should not overtly
market or endorse commercial products and services.
Also, topics related to general project management
practice, such as tools and techniques, may not be applicable to the
Leadership Institute and thus might be a better fit for a PMI global
congress.
Please access the proposal form, which is located in
the Component Leadership Online Community > News
section, and submit presentation proposals or questions to
Leadership Institute Administrator Gil Marder, by 30 May. |
