PMI Component Annual Charter Renewal Due 29 February

It’s annual PMI component charter renewal time. PMI components chartered prior to 1 January 2007 are required to submit their charter renewals to PMI Global Operations Center by Friday, 29 February.

Only officers with the proper permissions set in the CS can access the charter renewal, as follows:

  1. Logon to PMI.org
  2. Once logged on, click on Get Involved in the top navigation bar
  3. From the menu bar on the left, click Components & Communities
  4. Component System/DEP will be the last selection under Components & Communities
  5. The 2008 Charter Renewal link is located on the first page of the Component System (CS) on the left hand side of the page

Exposure Drafts of New Standards Now Available for Comment

The exposure drafts of The Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide)—Fourth Edition, The Standard for Program Management—Second Edition, The Standard for Portfolio Management—Second Edition, and OPM3®—Second Edition have been posted on PMI.org and are available for comment.  

The comment period will remain open until 22 March at 5:00 p.m. EST (GMT –5). No comments will be accepted after this date.

This is the time to voice any concerns, share perspective or lend professional insight. We encourage all members, volunteers and the greater project management community to take this opportunity to get involved. When the exposure draft period closes so does your opportunity for initiating change.



Deadline Approaches for 2008 Professional Award Entries

Now is the time for chapters to submit nominees for the 2008 PMI Professional Awards. As noted in the categories below, these awards recognize individual and organizational excellence, and also excellence in literature and in a professional development product. 

The deadline to submit nominees for all but two of the awards is Monday, 28 April. Submission of nominees for the Distinguished Project Award and the PMI Eric Jenett Project Management Excellence Award is ongoing throughout the year.

Presentation of most of the awards will be on 18 October in Denver, Colorado, USA, just before PMI® Global Congress 2008—North America begins.

LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE


One Week Left to Register Online for the Leadership Institute Meeting in Sydney

Advance registration is open until Friday, 15 February for the next PMI Leadership Institute Meeting, 1– 2 March, in Sydney, Australia. The two-day event is an outstanding opportunity for professional development and skills improvement. It also gives attendees the chance to network with members of the PMI Board of Directors, PMI staff and fellow colleagues.

PMI staff will be on site to answer questions and to conduct live demonstrations and assist with hands-on instruction of the Component Services Toolkit, an online system that offers valuable resources for component leaders.
